(January 2009) Richard Wells has been asked by the Lower Merion School District to participate in the District's upcoming strategic planning process. Many consider Lower Merion among the top public school systems in Pennsylvania and the nation.
"All three of my children have benefited from Lower Merion public schools, and I further support the schools through my involvement in the Education Foundation of Lower Merion," Richard said. "I look forward to applying my professional interest and experience in strategic planning for the benefit of local schools." The strategic planning effort will also include a number of other community leaders, parents, students, School Board members, and District employees.
"I believe strongly in volunteerism and community service. In fact, my first job in public relations grew out of volunteer service for an adult literacy agency in West Philadelphia over twenty years ago. Today, my main volunteer activity is serving as president of the Education Foundation of Lower Merion."
